Keeping Your Baby Warm When Indoors.

Since it seems like half the country right now is experiencing extremely cold weather, it is important to keep baby warm while inside. So instead of turning your heat way up and paying hundreds for your electric bill, here are some ideas for keeping your baby warm when indoors.

During the day keep baby dressed in layers, a undershirt, a t-shirt and a sweatshirt, socks, and slippers if you have them. Also sweatpants, and if its really cold some long johns. Also if your not going anywhere baby can where footie pajamas they are warm and tend to keep all parts of baby warm during the day. You can always take layers off if baby seems to be a little warm.

At night it is a good idea to dress baby in layers as well especially if baby kicks the covers off. It is okay to warm babies room with a space heater but don't leave on all night or while unsupervised, space heaters can cause fires if left on for a long time. If baby kicks blankets off, use flannel sheets and tuck them in to the sides of the bed so baby can't kick them off. Also a sleeping bag is a good idea for this problem as well.

Remember not to over dress your baby, this can cause sweating making baby even colder.

When taking baby outside bundle baby up in layers and make sure the head and ears and hands are covered so baby doesn't get chapped skin. Also when taking baby from the car to for instance the grocery store, cover up babies mouth and nose. Cold air is not good for baby to breath in, it can also give baby a runny nose. I put a blanket around my sons mouth and nose so just his eyes are showing until we get inside.

Good Luck!!!! and keep warm.
