So you just found out that you are having a baby boy, Congratulations! So now comes the decision to have your baby circumcised, or to not. In today's society it is more likely then not to have a circumcision, but some parents choose not to do this. Here are some reasons why your child should get circumcised.
Well first if you are Jewish then it is required by your religion that you circumcise your baby boy. This is the oldest practiced medical procedure, dating back to biblical times. Circumcision was used to show peoples covenant to God. Well now a days most everybody circumcises there babies not for religious purposes but because well it is a lot cleaner then being uncircumcised.
Circumcision reduces the risk of infections, or other problems such as circumcision later on in life.
For appearance purposes, parents want there son to look like other peoples kids, they don't want there child to be different.
Easier to keep clean, being uncircumcised can actually be harder to keep clean causing once again infection.
You can have your doctor circumcise your baby in the hospital or wait until baby is home from the hospital and have an ritual circumciser come to your house and do the procedure there.
Here are some reasons why parents choose not to circumcise there baby:
Parents are concerned about the pain, there is most likely some pain that goes along with circumcision but doctors can give baby something for the pain.
There is less risk of diaper rash on the penis because the foreskin protects from this
Some parents fear infection, but don't realize they might fear that and have to deal with that without circumcision.
Some parents want there child to decide this when they are old enough to make this decision on there own.
Whatever you choose it is your choice, and one you can make when in the hospital or before your baby is born. I guess some people have to make a decision some people just know right away.
