Just how do you determine your babies due date? That's a good question. Well there is a formula your doctor uses, to tell you when your baby will be born, and although this is usually accurate, there is a formula you can use as well. So here is the formula to figure out just when your little bundle of joy is going to come into this world.
Your babies due date is usually an estimate, a baby can come before or after the due date, it is a guess when your baby should come. A pregnant woman is usually pregnant for 40 weeks or 280 days. 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after the due date is usually considered a normal pregnancy.
The first day is usually determined by the first day of your last normal period. To determine your estimated due date calculate the following. (I know, I know, being pregnant is hard enough, you didn't think there would be math involved too). So get out your calculator and pen and paper and lets calculate. Things you will need to calculate your babies due date are a pen, a piece of paper, and a calender. You won't really need a calculator. That was a joke.
OK first establish the first day of your last period this is day one so write that date down and write day one next to it. Then go back 3 months from that date. Circle that month and date and write that down. Next just add one year and 7 days to that date and that's it, that is your approximate due date. I don't know you might need a calculator!!!!!
Of course cheek with your doctor to make sure you both have come up with a date at least with in the same month. That wouldn't be good if you both were three months off. If this happens go with your doctor's due date, not yours. Chances are you may have miscalculated. Just make sure day 1 is the same for both you and your doctor.
Most woman don't have their babies on there due date. So a fun thing to do with co-workers or at your baby shower is to make a baby due date contest and have people bet when your baby will be born this is really fun. Whom ever is closest wins.
